Effimed, Efficold’s biomedical subsidiary, has donated a total of 6,000 IIR and 600 FFP2 surgical masks to six clubs in the province of Cordoba for their technical and group sessions, as well as for their transfers. The delivery of these masks for athletes is part of the ongoing sponsorship program that theEuropean leader in commercial refrigeration Efficoldcarries out annually with teams from the lower categories of Cordoba in order to support the development of grassroots sports.
FFP2 and surgical masks for sportsmen and sportswomen
Effimed, already positioned as the leading mask manufacturer in Spain after obtaining a 99.98% Bacterial Filtration Efficiency (BEF) certification, has a collaboration agreement with Rambla Femenino, Córdoba Adesal, Córdoba Balonmano, Córdoba Futsal, Ciudad de Lucena and Ángel Ximénez Puente Genil.
For the players and technical staff of these teams, Effimed masks “are very comfortable and provide very good levels of breathability and an excellent degree of protection”, according to the players, who explained that they use these masks during transportation, group sessions, technical sessions and gym activities.
The athletes also highlighted the comfort of the fabric of the masks, which is very soft and technical, preventing any type of allergy or discomfort. It should be recalled that Effimed IIR masks achieved in the last report an exceptional breathability required by the #EN14683:2019 standard, under which these masks are governed. In addition to undergoing daily production controls, they are manufactured under the UNE-EN 14683:2019 + AC2019 Standard.
In addition to high breathability and maximum bacterial filtration efficiency, these surgical masks not only prevent solid and liquid particles in the air, but also maintain their protection against splashes from sweat, blood or saliva.
The characteristics of these masks, designed for health professionals, are also ideal for safe sports practice and, for this reason, Effimed has donated these masks to the Cordoba teams so that they can “continue their sports practice under parameters of total guarantee and safety for health”, the company has emphasized. The company has also participated in the Junta de Andalucía’s ‘Winners Network’ program, through which each of its brands donated a significant amount to sponsor grassroots Andalusian sports.
Effimed is in the middle of a mask production campaign, and in 2021 they have already started to export the masks from Andalusia to the rest of Europe.
